ZeptoLab to bring Cut the Rope-themed experience to the Sandbox

The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has partnered with gaming company ZeptoLab to create a new land filled with themed experiences and collectibles.

ZeptoLab is responsible for gaming titles such as Cut the Rope, CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars, King of Thieves, and Bullet Echo. The new land created by ZeptoLab will enable players to manage the Om Nom Cafe in the city of Nomville and serve customers of the themed cafe in an arcade management game. ZeptoLab and The Sandbox will also develop digital collectibles, building on the model created around the Nommies from Cut the Rope 2 and the Ancestors from Cut the Rope: Time Travel, as well as accessories and equipment to customize avatars.

Sebastien Borget, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, said: “We are thrilled to welcome ZeptoLab to The Sandbox. I look forward to seeing all the creations the Cut the Rope community will build in the metaverse using collectible digital items that they can truly own.”

Part virtual real estate, part amusement park, The Sandbox embraces the idea of the metaverse as a continuous shared digital space. More than 400 partners have joined The Sandbox, including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, The Rabbids, Tony Hawk, Gucci Vault, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Richie Hawtin, The Smurfs, Care Bears, Atari, ZEPETO, and CryptoKitties.
