Metaverse Professional: beyond business as usual

The metaverse may not yet exist, and there may be a plethora of ideas about what it actually is, or what needs to happen before such a concept becomes reality, but that won’t stop people from trying. Metaverse Professional provides a community platform for the early pioneers, the visionaries bitten by what could be. It’s the go-to site for all practical extended reality business matters, from job postings, tenders and supplier directories, to thought leadership and data reports.

Such creatives see the metaverse as the logical evolution of the internet – Web 3.0. Virtual reality has been painfully slow in development but has now reached a level of maturity where real progress can be made. The combination of sophisticated headsets, seamless internet connectivity and lightning fast processing speeds finally allows for a totally immersive extended reality experience – albeit at a hefty price, for the time being. Like the early days of the internet, potential applications will come thick and fast for decades to come. McKinsey research estimates that the market could even reach US$5 trillion by 2030.

Times of change

It’s not only technological progress that has helped facilitate the possible advent of the metaverse. World events have created a step-change in human behaviour, both socially and in the workplace. People want a better balance between their work and social lives, and to spend less time moving from place to place unnecessarily. They want greener options that limit emissions and safeguard the future for their children. They want to make the best possible informed decisions about where they go and what they do with their precious downtime, by sampling detailed, virtual experiences before trying the real thing. All of this could be facilitated through the metaverse.

And if that isn’t enough then the hook rate from using extended reality applications speaks for itself. Online conference calls have already proven to be less effective than face-to-face meetings. The mind wanders and distractions are all too easy. It’s simply more difficult to concentrate on a flat screen with someone talking at you rather than to you. Virtual reality combined with a constant, living online environment provides a totally immersive experience, with superior visual aids and cues. Quite simply, the idea of conducting a business meeting using a camera on your device, or casually learning about a subject by reading a static web page will soon seem archaic.

New horizons

Virtual reality has arrived but the battle for how the metaverse evolves has only just begun. Metaverse Professional provides the key link, the community space connecting employers and developers with in-demand talent. A safe space where businesses can go to learn about the potential of the metaverse and find suppliers and developers sympathetic to their needs. Where industry professionals can go to debate and learn about case studies showcasing the latest solutions to the plethora of challenges presented by Web 3.0.
To those looking beyond business as usual, welcome to Metaverse Professional.
